Is it makruh to touch the najasah directly with your hand?

I know the elders especially in the Asian countries still stick to their ways and don't always use tissue but just wipe with their hand while flowing the water from the "jug". I agree with the kuffar who find this abhorrent. Is this actually permitted because even with strong scented soap the smell can remain. Then you have the problem of a wet behind. Surely with the advent of tissue it is far superior to wipe the excess as much as you can with tissue and then use the hand and jug so that the hand is not going into najasah? In fact the bidet or the Turkish toilet with the spray at the back is a better system (but I don't know how you sit the other way to clean the front). The bidet spray hose is a little messy - too powerful a jet of water.
