One of my friend told me about this ( its a copy and paste ) . Does anyone know a correct reference where this is mentioned
I was having a discussion with my uncle (mamu), this weekend and he told me a story about Hazrat Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (ra). It was about a people that the Muslims had captured after war. They had women, children and old men in that group of people who were capturer. They were kuffar. Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) consulted people on how to proceed with the people who were caputred. Everyone gave their opinions but Hazrat Umar (ra) had the strictest opinion. He said O Prophet of Allah (swt), kill them all. Everyone was shocked, the Prophet asked Hazrat Umar and why he thinks this needs to be done and he said, the mothers will brainwash these children and even if the women are married to Muslims they will secretly tell them things against Muslims. Well, in any case the Prophet let them live as he was full mercy, Subhan'Allah. The same night Jibrail (as), came down from the heavens and said, O Muhammad (Pbuh), you should have listened to Umar (ra) and only let the old ones live.
My uncle was saying that today those people's children were shias.
I asked my uncle the source of this story and he said that he didn't know the source but he said most probably this was after the battle of Uhud.
