Palestine: Information Regarding the Current Situation - November 2012

The purpose of this thread is to collect information found in the media regarding the current situation (November 2012) in Palestine.

The information presented will be within the boundaries of the information found in the Burma and Syria threads which have not been deleted.

This thread is about Palestine. It is not about me or the members that take part in this thread. So please do not harass me or any other member taking part in this thread.

If anyone wishes to know my culinary habits in light of the current situation then please make another thread and i will respond there. FOLLOWING ARE JUST THE BARE FACTS. THE REALITY IS MUCH WORSE.

5–13 November 2012



  • 5th - israeli la'anatis shot dead a 20 year old palestinian man who had learning difficulties, near the gaza/israel border. he was rightfully on the palestinian side of the border.
  • 5th - some israeli soldiers claimed to have been injured by a roadside bomb.
  • 8th - israeli pigs invaded gaza after claiming to have found bombs along the border and started a gun fight with palestinian mujahideen.
  • 8th - a 13 year old palestinian boy was martyred by machine gun fire from an israeli tank or helicopter.
  • 8th - palestinian mujahideen detonated explosives which injured 4 israeli soldier.
  • 9th - palestinian mujahideen attacked with rockets. non resulted in any casualties.
  • 10th - palestinian mujahideen fired anti tank missiles at israeli soldiers injuring 4 soldiers. israeli soldiers bombed source of the rockets and also bombed other areas. 4 palestinian teens were martyred. palestinian mujahideen then fired into israel with 30 rockets.
  • both sides continued to exchange fire for several days. several israeli pigs injured. 6 palestinian mujahideen martyred.
  • 12th - Hamas and mujahideen indicated willingness to discuss a ceasefire. israeli pigs refused saying that mujahideen had fired on israel on the same day.






14 November

  • israeli pigs targeted Ahmed Jabari, chief of Hamas's military wing. both ahmed and his son were martyred.
  • On the same day, an Israeli round hit the home of Jihad Mishrawi, a BBC Arabic video editor residing in Gaza. The airstrike martyred his 11-month old son Omar, and his sister in law. Mishrawi told the BBC Middle East bureau chief that there had been no fighting in his residential neighbourhood at the time of the attack.
  • The israeli pigs also struck against 20 Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.
  • Gazan militants continued to fire rockets towards Israeli.
  • The israeli Iron Dome missile defense system made 130 interceptions.
  • About 55 rockets were launched on the evening of 14 November.
  • On the night of 14 November, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the Israeli cabinet had authorized a partial call-up of reservists in case they were needed for a large ground-based operation.





15 November

  • On 15 November, all schools within 40 kilometers of the Gaza Strip were closed down. An 8-month old girl was martyred in Gaza when her house was shelled.[51] In total, 15 Palestinians were martyred, including five mujahideen and two children during the airstrikes.
  • On the night of 15 November, the Israeli Air Force launched a series of 70 bombing runs to destroy what it said were underground medium-range rocket launchers.[




Casualties

19 Palestinians have been martyred to date, including 7 mujahideen and twelve civilians, among them were a pregnant woman and six children.

  • Issam Abu al-Maaz (ra), 20, member of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas.
  • Hisham Muhammad al-Ghalban (ra), 25, member of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas.
  • Wael Haidar al-Ghalban (ra), 28, member of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas.
  • Habes Masmah (ra), 30, Hamas security commander.
  • Fares al-Bassiouni (ra).
  • Tareq Jamal Naser (ra), 16.
  • Oday Jamal Nasser (ra), 14.
  • Omar Mashharawi (ra), 11 months.
  • Hiba Mashharawi (ra), 19.
  • Muhammad Abu Swawen (ra), 65.
