One man converted from Christianity to Islam.
He thinks that he is "born of God" according to John 3, Bible.
He thinks that he believes in the Messiah and according to Christianity, he will be in paradise.
He said:
You are confusing terms here: the verse you are using, 1John 2:19 is in direct reference ONLY to people who are "antichrist", whereas I fully believe that Jesus IS the Christ (messiah).
One can and SHOULD abandon "Christianity" whereas one should never abandon the belief that Jesus is the Christ.
1John 5:1 states that "Whosoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God..." so ALL Muslims are born of God just as much as you are! All Muslims believe that Jesus IS the Christ, so all Muslims are born of God.
Ex-Christian does not mean ex-believer. I believe in Jesus as the Messiah and as a Messenger of the Most High just as much as ever. Only now I recognize that he taught for his followers to have the very same submission to the Most High that he himself had, exactly as Islam teaches, but Christianity does not stress that point of belief as Jesus himself did.
I am "born of God" and all Muslims are "born of God" according to 1John 5:1, so we are safely IN the Kingdom already.
All that remains to be seen is how well our lives live up to the idea of being "born of God", i.e. the same criteria that Christians will be subject to on judgment day.
I think that when Jesus returns he will certainly slay the wicked and reward the righteous, whether they call themselves Muslim, Jew, or Christian.
So let us take heed to our beliefs and actions so that we will be found to be "of Allah" at the time of Jesus' return.
But what do you think is the answer of the Bible to this question? What did Jesus say about that?
What are my answers to his question?
