It is with sadness, but not surprise that we learn that the pro-Hindu, anti-Muslim, Prime minister of Bangladesh and her party are overjoyed with the sentencing to death of the erudite, world-famous scholar and orator Shaykh Delwar Hossain Sayedee. The proceedings have been marred with in justice such as the surprise disappearance of a key witness for the Shaykh and this has been acknowledged by human rights group worldwide. What is surprising is the complete silence and lack of refutation by the Bangladeshi scholars in the Western world, possibly owing to their desire not to face reprisals when they travel back to Bangladesh.
I have no affiliation to the Jam’aat Islamia nor have I ever personally met the Shaykh, but his remarkable and selfless struggle for Islam in Bangladesh cannot go unrecognized. I pray that Allah relieves him of his suffering in the best way that He sees fit.
It is extremely sad to see that Bengalis constantly persist in choosing one of two women to enclose their affairs to. The Fuqaha agree that it is not permissible to entrust the affairs of leadership of a state to women and among other things they base it on the following authentic hadith that comes in Sahih al-Bukhari and other works:
On the authority of Abu Bakrah (RA) who said: When the Apostle of Allah (salahu alayhi wassalam) heard the news that the people of Persia made the daughter of Kisra their queen, he said, “No nation will ever prosper that appoint over themselves a woman.”
It suffices for one not comment, but to provide this link to those who want to come to their own conclusion on the matter of the woman who is ruling them now.
And Allah knows best
