We have alot of fine Ulema and spiritual guides in our Ummah mashAllah Wa'alhamdullilah.
Do we however have fine examples of people with excellence in secular knowledge of sciences or their arts?
I think to outshine other civilizations and attain respect we need representatives excellent in their fields of secular/worldy knowledge who claim Islam as their religion and Muslim as their identity (even if they not living in the Muslim World but use Islam as their life guide).
We had excellent ancient examples especially in the field of medicine. However do we have recent examples and should we develop a culture of awe and appreciation for excellent secular knowledgeable people even if that awe is lesser than that what the Ummah attributes to the Ulema. I think that is important to motivate our youth and transform our Ummah's condition.
