Blindly defending some scholars

:salam:

Recently two threads have been locked up. The cause was probably- argumentation on the activities of a departed scholar.

Some took the side of that scholar and others stood on opposition. But it is clear that the thread ended up on the favour of the supporters of that scholar.

My point is- being a scholar doesn't make a person infallible. We can only judge a person on the basis of his visible activities and opinions. The internal condition is known solely by Allaah :taala:. So, when we find someone attached strongly with a great criminal, what is the problem to call him a friend/ally of criminal?

Is scholarship something that give a man guarantee of being innocent? Why we, the ordinary people can't judge a scholar's actions when we find opposite of Quran and Sunnah?
