i am confused about Quran verse 162 of Surah al-an'aam (surah 6) Say: "Truly, my prayer and my service of sacrifice, my life and my death, are (all) for Allah, the Cherisher of the Worlds:
can you guys explain when the verse says "my service of sacrifice, my life and my death, are (all) for Allah" what exactly does that mean?
my questions regarding this part is does it mean:
1. for example if i have a son and then a criminal catches us and tells us u have a choice which one of you i want to shoot and kill and if i say kill me because of the fact that i love my son and i don't want my son to die does that mean that i am sacrificing myself for my son and is that something that goes against Islam and this verse because the verse says "my service of sacrifice, my life and my death, are (all) for Allah"? (based on sunni Islamic teachings if i don't have the intention of pleasing Allah in this situation but to save my son is this allowed, is this haram, or is this shirk, or kufr?)
2. example two if i go to a university to become a doctor only for the reason that i want to have a good career and make good money is that something that goes against Islam and this verse because the verse says "my service of sacrifice, my life and my death, are (all) for Allah"? (based on sunni Islamic teachings if i don't have the intention of pleasing Allah in this situation but to have a good career and make good money is this allowed, is this haram, or is this shirk, or kufr?)
(please give some info on the above questions)
