Salaam
I know that parents are a big thing in islam and to love and care for them etc
BUT.... Anyway... My parents... They expect all of us kids to financially support them once we qualify and get jobs. One of my siblings has finished uni and all the money earned she has to save, I think the rents are doing the asian thing and saving the money my sibling is earning for wedding WHICH I disagree with! I don't think its fair to save and then spend SO much money on a MASSIVE wedding!.. seems silly!
I just don't think this is fair that we are all expected to earn for them as well!
I mean I have BIG plans for the future. I want to save money so that I can travel the ENTIRE world. Then after I would like to settle in a 3rd world country and work with the needy!
I havn't told them JUST yet, they might drop dead! And I cnt afford that right now!
Also I finish uni in 2years and would REALLY like to study islam studies, and dietics and nutrition course! I basically have SO much I want to do with my life!!!
Soo.... How do I break it to them? That I REALLY DO NOT wna finish uni then live at home!.. I wna explore the world, learn etc!
Anyway I was also thinking....
My parents should've just invested in their future, I don't want to be working and giving money to my parents all my life. Its my money in my right. I would rather save it for my future plans and IF I get married then all the money for my children e.g. private education etc
I feel like they have not made much of their life and its unfair for them to expect us to pay off the morgage, and support them for the rest of their lives! My dad wants to stop working ASAP so we can give him money.
OR am I too attched to money, should I islamically be supporting them? What are my rights? Have my parents got any rights over me and what I do with my life? I dno't think they agree with me wanting to migrate abroad!
ADVICE please!!!...
