In this time and age

Assalamu alaikum,
I have an actually interesting question to ask. So I'm 20 years old. I converted to islam at 17 and ever since I left the United States to study Islam. At first I had the same dreams every muslim american kid has to study university as well as islamic studies. eventually i gave up university and did just islamic studies but when the revolution began in syria i had to leave. At this moment I have been educating myself at home through books and I joined quite a lot of groups in search of truth. To be honest with you I don't know what should be of importance to me at this moment. If i got married then I know I would focus on my kids but as a non married sister it's like degrees mean nothing to me and I'll usually work part time just to take care of myself. I've been traveling from country to country and on one hand I feel that it's important for me to fight oppression and actually do something productive for the muslim ummah while on the other hand i remember that hadith which says when your ummah is divided and there is no leader then stay at home and worship. I guess what I'm asking is what is the best way for me to make my jannah in this time and age as well as being productive. I can't just sit at home all the time. I knew a group in Egypt who were shia and they were so dedicated to their path that people were migrating from all over the west and coming to egypt to join this brother and begin this shia city of theirs. I observed them for quite some time and i found their sacrifices very admiring. It takes a lot to leave your careers and families and come out to a foreign land for the sake of educating yourself. They are waiting until their imam rises and leads them to victory. I'm not shia and I'm not saying I'm with them. To be honest i disagree with them on many levels but i found them so organized and so determined. I wished that i had believers like this to be a part of who I atleast had a similiar aqeedah with. So I ask where should I be putting my focus on? What is the best thing for a young girl to do at this time?
