First of all, Insha'Allah this thread is not being opened up for aggressive political debating, name-calling, and the usual thread-destruction that goes on (almost) every time a similar thread is started. Based on past experience, most probably I will end up asking the mods to delete this thread, because of what it may become. Then again, most probably I am completely wrong on that. Allah knows best.
Alhamdulillah, that being said, I would like to ask those in the knowledge:
What is the deal with PTI?
How is their alignment with the Shariah?
Should one attend their 'julsa' (large gatherings) which are going on pretty much in most parts of the worlds now where any Pakistanis can be found? Or are these events conducted in a completely anti-shariah manner?
I have an opportunity to go to some of these events here in the USA, or rather I am being asked to go, and my initial answer was just "no". I try to stay away from such events because of the mixing of both genders, music, etc.
Then the brother who was trying to invite me told me the major objectives of PTI, which are basically to clean Pakistan up of all the dirt that is currently around (figuratively and literally speaking), and he told me about the genuineness of Imran Khan when it comes to accomplishing these objectives. He also told me that Imran Khan is unlike any 'politician' Pakistan has seen in decades, that he goes and mingles with the general public all over Pakistan, poor & rich alike, without a million body-guards surrounding him. That if he goes to visit a town or a village, he sits down with the general public and eats alongside with them, by himself, without an army of security. That during his events, when it's time for salat, he takes a break and makes salat, etc. He then gave me a short talk on how it may not be the most 100% perfect way to go about it, but as Pakistanis we should try to do whatever we can to help this movement for cleaning up Pakistan and eventually making it a solid country which can stand on it's own and doesn't have all the usual disasters going on there on a daily basis. Apparently, Imran Khan is the man for the job and PTI is the party that's gonna do it.
Their website which explains their stand is at http://insaf.pk (read the "About Us" section for details on what they're trying to do).
So, without talking any more, what is you all's opinion on all of this, and should one become involved with this movement?
