I dont even know what to believe anymore.
Why is stoning prescribed as a punishment when the Qur'an clearly prescribes 100 lashes as a punishment for Adultery/fornication? ( in Qur'an 24:2)
Some people claim that stoning is prescribed for the married one, and lashes for the unmarried, but the word used in the Qur'an includes both married and and unmarried.
Also, how can stoning be a punishment when the Qur'an orders that the one who commits zina can only be married to someone else who has also committed zina, or a polytheist. (in Qur'an 24:3)How can this be possible if the fornicator/adulterer is stoned to death?
As far as I know, there are only four hadith that mention stoning, and two of them overlap about the two jews who confessed to adultery and were stoned. But this was based on the torah, not the Qur'anic law.
People who dont support rajm say that the hadith about Prophet (SAW) ordering and adulteress to be stoned was before verse 24:2 was revealed.
Could this be true?
Please, need some insight into this issue, im very confused. Im afraid to say anything because I dont want to ouright reject a sahih hadith, but at the same time im dubious about rajm.
