Yesterday I had a wonderful conversation with one of my Mashaikh (may Allah give him aafiya). I told him about me wanting to call my Shaykh (db) but feeling too dirty (full of sins) that i didnt call and put it off for another time. Again, next time same feeling, same thing. So calling Shaykh (db) has been put off for sometime.
This feeling of being "dirty" affects most Saalikeen.
Below is his reply, i thought it might benefit people:
Strange syndrome
A man full of dirt was standing in front of a river
Saying
I wish I was clean enough to clean my dirt with your pure water
The river replied
Come inside me whatever you are
And my water will clean you in an instant
The more dirty you are, the more you need to talk to your Shaikh
Concentrate more on your Mamoolat
One goes ahead through Mamoolat
Even the Suhba of Shaikh works for those who are regular in Mamoolat
Otherwise the Faiz comes from Shaikh, but does not stay
